Ngenaire Docs

Your profile

Your profile holds the personal information Ngenaire stores about you and the controls for your own account. What you change here applies to you everywhere — across every organization and project you belong to. Open it from the user menu in the top bar, or go to /profile directly.

Personal details

Edit and Save the following:

  • Full Name — your display name in mentions, approvals, and notifications.
  • Email — your contact address.
  • Department — optional.
  • Job Title — optional.
  • Timezone — controls how dates and timestamps render across the app, including schedule dates and notification times.

Your Username is shown but cannot be changed.

To update them:

  1. Edit any field on the personal-details form.
  2. Click Save Changes.

Change your password

If your account uses an email and password, you can change it from the password form:

  1. Enter your Current Password.
  2. Enter your new password and confirm it (minimum 6 characters).
  3. Click Change Password.

If you only ever sign in with Google, this form does not apply.

Two-factor authentication (passkeys)

Add a passkey to require a second step at sign-in — after your password, you confirm with the passkey stored on your device (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, a phone, or a hardware security key). This protects your account even if your password is leaked.

To turn it on, open the Two-Factor Authentication (Passkeys) section on your profile:

  1. Click Add passkey and choose where the passkey lives:
    • This device — use the built-in Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello on the computer you're on.
    • Phone or security key — your browser shows a QR code; scan it with your phone's camera to store the passkey on the phone, or use a hardware security key.
  2. (Optionally) give it a name you'll recognize, like MacBook Touch ID or My iPhone.
  3. Follow the browser/device prompt to finish creating the passkey.
  4. The first time you add one, Ngenaire shows a set of recovery codes. Save them somewhere safe — copy or download them. Each code works once to sign in if you ever lose your passkey, and they are shown only this once.

Once at least one passkey is registered, every future login asks for it after your password.

Managing passkeys:

  • Add more than one (e.g. a laptop and a phone) so you're not locked out if one device is unavailable.
  • Rename a passkey with the pencil icon.
  • Remove a passkey with the trash icon — you'll re-enter your password to confirm. Removing your last passkey turns two-factor authentication off.
  • Regenerate recovery codes if you've used some or think they were exposed; this replaces the old set.

You need a password set before you can add a passkey. If you only sign in with Google, set a password first using the form above.

If you lose your passkey at sign-in, choose Use a recovery code instead on the verification step and enter one of your saved codes.

Appearance

Your theme is set from the Appearance switcher in the top-bar user menu — choose Dark, Light, or System to follow your operating system. The change applies immediately.

Billing and organizations

Billing and organization management are reached from the same user menu. Use Billing to manage your plan and credits — see Billing and credits.

Tips

  • Set your timezone so schedule dates and notification timestamps make sense to you.
  • Use a real display name so teammates can tell who is who in mentions and approvals.
